Planning a competition
What does running a competition look like, from start to finish?
Set it up, open sign-ups, check people in on the day, make the draw, keep score at each table, and it finishes itself when the final's won.
Here's the whole thing, in order. Each step has its own article.
Before the day
- Set it up: when, how big, the money, the name.
- Open sign-ups, and tell people about it. Players put their own names down.
On the day
- Check people in as they arrive, and mark who's paid.
- Choose who keeps score at each table.
- Close sign-ups and make the draw. Leagology pairs everyone up.
- Play. Each match is scored on a phone as it's played, and the TV and players' phones follow it live.
After
- It finishes by itself when the final's won, and the winner's on the page.
- Run it again whenever you like.
