What is a
mass elimination
tournament?

The simplest format there is. Everyone plays together. Worst performers each round are eliminated. Last player standing wins. No brackets, no fixtures, no pairings — just play. On Leagology, you set the elimination count per round and we track the scores. It's the format for killer pool, around the world darts, and any game where the whole group plays at once.

How it works

The mechanics.

All players compete simultaneously — everyone's in the same game. After each round, the lowest-scoring players are eliminated. Rounds keep going until one player remains. Think killer pool, around the world darts, or any format where the whole room is playing at once.

How many rounds do you need?

8 players 3-4 rounds
16 players 4-5 rounds
24 players 5-6 rounds

Comparisons

How it compares.

Mass Elimination vs Knockout

Knockout is 1v1 — structured brackets, clear paths to the final. Mass elimination is everyone at once — more social, less structured, faster to get through. On Leagology, you can run mass elimination as a warm-up then set up a knockout as the main event. Both feed into rankings. Knockout for serious competition. Mass elimination for the party.
