Playing in a tournament
What's the difference between a tournament and a series?
The tournament is the named thing a venue runs, again and again. A series is one edition of it, with its own sign-ups, its own draw (who plays who) and its own winner.
The tournament is the named thing a pub or club runs, again and again, like a pub's monthly pool shootout.
A series is one edition of it. The first is Series I, the next Series II, and so on. Each series has its own sign-ups, its own draw (who plays who), its own matches and its own winner.
What that means for you:
- You sign up for each series. Being in Series I doesn't put you in Series II.
- Your points carry on. Your place on the leaderboard comes from every match you've played, not from one series.
- Old series don't disappear. The tournament's page shows each finished series under Previously on, with who won it.
