Playing in a tournament

How to find a tournament near you, sign up, and what happens when you turn up to play, step by step.

1 How do I find a tournament near me? Go to leagology.com/tournaments and type your town or postcode to see what's on near you. 2 How do I sign up for a tournament? Open the tournament's page and press Reserve your spot. 3 I've been invited to a tournament. How do I join? Open the link in your invite and press Join. If you're new to Leagology, you set a password on the same page. 4 Some tournaments need the organiser to say yes. How does that work? You send a request, and the organiser confirms your place. You'll get an email when they do. 5 Why can't I sign up for a tournament? It's invite only, it's for pairs, or the organiser has stopped taking names. The page tells you which. 6 The tournament is full. How does the waitlist work? Press Join the waitlist. If someone pulls out before check-in opens, the first person waiting gets the place and we email them. 7 I can't make it. How do I pull out? Press Withdraw on the tournament's page. You can do that any time before you've checked in. 8 How do I pay the entry fee? In cash, at the bar, when you arrive. No card needed. 9 How do I check in at the venue on the day? Press Check in on the tournament's page when you've arrived. The organiser can also tick you off at the door. 10 How do you decide who I play? At random, once everyone has checked in. 11 What's a bye in a pool tournament? A bye means you go straight through to the next round without playing a match. 12 Who keeps score at my table? Someone from the venue's team keeps score on the Leagology app, shot by shot, while you play. 13 Can I follow the tournament on my phone? Yes. On the day, the tournament's page shows who's playing now, who's up next, and every result as it happens. 14 I think a score is wrong. What can I do? Tell the organiser straight away. They can put it right, but only until the next match has been played. 15 How do I know who I'm playing next? Open the tournament's page on your phone: Up next shows your match first. If the pub has it on the TV, it's there too. 16 What's the difference between a tournament and a series? The tournament is the named thing a venue runs, again and again. A series is one edition of it, with its own sign-ups, its own draw (who plays who) and its own winner. 17 What does the pub TV show during a tournament? Before it starts, who's in and a code to sign up. While it's on, the draw, the live score and who's up next. At the end, the winner. 18 How do I rate a series I played in? When it's finished, open the tournament's page, tap a star under How was it?, and press Rate.
