How do I give someone on the waitlist a place in my tournament?
Press Give them a place on their row, or Fill from the waitlist to bring in as many as there's room for. Either way, we tell them they're in.
People on the waitlist show on your sign-ups list, and on the check-in list on the day. There are three ways to get someone in.
The buttons below are the ones on the series page for a knockout. In a league or groups tournament they're called promote (or bring in on the day) and fill 2 from the waitlist, and they do the same thing.
One person: Give them a place
On their row, press the button with an up arrow. It's labelled Give them a place. They're in straight away, and if they have a Leagology login we tell them, in the app and by email, that a place opened and they're in. If they're a guest you added yourself, they won't get a message, so tell them.
It only works when there's room:
- Before you open check-in, the series is full once every place is taken, whether or not those people have turned up yet.
- Once check-in is open, a place is only taken by someone who's actually here (and paid, if there's an entry fee). Someone who hasn't turned up isn't holding one.
If it's full, Leagology says so and leaves everyone where they are.
Several at once: Fill from the waitlist
Once sign-ups have closed, if fewer people are here (and paid) than the series has room for, the check-in list says how many places are still to fill and shows a button like Fill two from the waitlist. It brings in as many as there's room for: people on the waitlist who are already here first, then in the order they joined. Each one is told, the same way.
You still tick them in and take their money at the door, like everyone else.
It's full, but someone's late: swap them
If someone on the waitlist is here and a player with a place isn't, you can swap them, as long as the late player hasn't checked in or paid. The late player goes onto the waitlist, not out. See can I swap a late player?
