Your rating is how good we think you are. After about 4 months away, we become less sure it's still right, so the ± number next to your points grows.

Your rating itself doesn't change. But your next few results move it more than usual, until we've seen you play again.

Your points on the leaderboard do drop while you're away, for each month you miss: see why you've lost points.
